Tailored to Your Wishes

In addition to our comprehensive funeral packages, we offer a range of services that can be added so you can tailor this final goodbye in exactly the way you want. It's the little details that make all the difference — and in times of distress, it's often the details that can feel most overwhelming. We're here to take care of them for you.

Pre-arrangement

Some people wish to make their own funeral arrangements — including payment — prior to their death, removing the responsibility from family members who can then grieve freely. When someone wishes to do this, we hold all the details on file until they are required. We also maintain records of the next of kin or executor so we can remind them of the arrangements when the time is right.

Memorials & Plaques

Whether a name is to be added to an existing memorial or a new memorial or commemoration plaque needs to be created, we can arrange for our appointed Stonemason to contact you and create a fitting tribute.

Orders of Service

If you would like us to, we can design and print the Order of Service to be used at the funeral. We ask for four clear working days to draft, send to you for approval, and print in readiness for the day of the service.

Chapels of Rest

We have six private Chapels of Rest where friends and relatives of the deceased may pay their last respects in privacy and peaceful surroundings. Many people find this option especially helpful if the death occurred in hospital.

Jewellery and certain personal effects may remain with the deceased or be collected as required. Please confirm your wishes, and phone the office when wishing to visit your loved one so we can co-ordinate timings.

Hearses & Limousines

Our fleet of vehicles is a distinctive Pacific Blue — a colour specifically chosen to represent peace and serenity. Our Jaguar hearse and limousines each seat six or seven adults in comfort. If any special arrangements are needed, such as an invalid taxi, please let us know and we will take care of it for you.

Floral Tributes

We can recommend award-winning florists should you need us to, helping to create a beautiful, fitting tribute. Alternatively, if you wish to use your own local florist, please arrange for the flowers to be delivered to us directly on the morning of the funeral.

Newspaper Notices

We can help you write Obituary Notices and/or Acknowledgements, and arrange for them to be published in the newspaper of your choosing.

Catering

Should you require a meal — buffet or formal — for after the funeral service, we can recommend some suitable venues to suit your requirements.

Donation Handling

Monetary donations in lieu of floral tributes have become a popular choice. Donations can be sent to our offices, where we will keep a full record, send receipts to each donor, and forward a list of all donations to the family (usually four to five weeks after the funeral). Please request all cheques be made payable to the charity of choice.

Our vehicles are finished in a distinctive Pacific Blue — a colour specifically chosen to represent peace and serenity. We believe the journey your loved one takes on their final day should reflect the care and dignity they deserve.

Our Jaguar hearse and limousines seat six or seven adults comfortably. Families may also choose to use their own transport if they prefer. If you have any special requirements, please discuss them with us and we will do our very best to accommodate your wishes.

Harry Tomes Funeral Services are situated at 15 Somerset Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth, alongside our partners George Scott Funeral Services.

We have ample parking facilities and a Reception Room for mourners who prefer to gather at the funeral home and proceed together to the service.

Our six private Chapels of Rest are available by appointment. Please phone our office to co-ordinate timings when you wish to visit.
